In 1994 The Players became affiliated to St. Mary's Church, and this relationship has helped to foster a good working relationship between church members, other hall users and The Players. Although we are affiliated to the parish church we make no demands on our members, or impose any conditions of religious faith, or otherwise, other than asking them to respect the faith of our hosts.

Over the years The Players have produced a wide range of drama, from farce, pantomime and comedy to musicals and more serious drama. We have also, from time to time, entered one act plays in a number of local drama festivals - gaining the odd award along the way - see our Past Productions page for more details of our repertoire. We have no defined policy in choosing our plays- it is usually down to finding a suitable director and going with what he or she wants to do - although we do try to maintain a balance between the light hearted and more serious drama. With our annual pantomime we are also not afraid to experiment with more unusual story lines, but balance these productions with the more traditional stories.

A number of past members have gone on to seek fame and fortune in the professional world of entertainment and theatre, while others, on moving from the area have continued their interests with other drama groups. Included in this category are Andrea Watson (Rape of the Belt) and Kirsten O'Brien (Mayor of Torontal and pantomimes such as Puss In Boots).
